Earth is our Spaceship

Happy Belated Fourth of July!  I hope yours was spent with loved ones, celebrations, beer and delicious food!  Mine was relaxing and exciting.  I went for a hike at Dead River Falls, posted up my hammock and chilled with a good read and forest friends.  It was just what I needed.  It's so beautiful how the forest has a way of calming your spirit and rejuvenating your soul. You can gain whole new perspectives on things, and the everyday struggles life brings.  You're completely free in the forest, worries and troubles are carried away with the wind or washed away by the flowing water.  The Earth is communicating and we humans are so lucky to be able to listen.  After spending time with nature, I went back to hang out with my partner in crime Zack.  We cooked stuffed mushrooms, had some beer and walked to the beach to watch the fireworks...but we picked a poor spot, we were only able to see them through a space in the trees.  It was all good though, we had a great time!  These pictures show my little adventure.  Let them speak to you and feel their love and life.  I love you all!

Daisies and Dew

The other day my roommate and I decided to take a walk down the beach.  Well a walk down the beach turned into a walk all the way around the city of Marquette.  It was a nice, calm beautiful walk filled with rock and flower picking as well as some tree climbing!  The skies were overcast preparing to unleash fury a few hours later, the air was warm with moisture and a light mist was flowing from Mother Superior.  Everyday the weather amazes me here in the Upper Peninsula, and it's always beautiful up here.  I hope these pictures remind you to observe the big things in life like the weather but also notice the small things like dew resting on leaves and flower petals, or the waves of tree bark.  SEE these details and love them.

Blooming Earth

Hello Earthlings!  This is my first official Spring/Summer Season post =) The snow has finally melted, replenishing the Earth with fresh, crisp H20, and giving it the nourishment to flourish once again.  After three weeks spent at home in Detroit, I was fully ready to come back to the Yoop.  The weather has been beautiful, with the sun king shining almost every day, and temperatures in the mid 60's to mid 70's.  These pictures were taken on a hike with my friend Jamie, to Wetmore Landing, a beautiful hiking spot west of Marquette.  Lake Superior is still quite cold and we didn't have the guts to immerse ourselves into her body, but we did find splendid jumping spots to try, once she warms up a bit.  Spring/Summer time is absolutely beautiful in "Marquisite".  The trees and the forest floor are growing luscious green again, and it's definitely barefoot hiking season =)  Anyways, I hope these pictures bring you the feeling and imagination of the many sights and smells of Spring in the Upper Peninsula.
